Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Rachel at Parajunkee’s View and Alison at Alison Can Read. It is a great way for bloggers to make new friends and find new blogs to follow. Go to either blog, follow ALL the instructions and then add you link to the list. It’s just that easy!
This week’s question:
"The New Year is here -- and everyone wants to know your New Years Blogging Resolution! What are you going to try to revise, revamp and redo for 2012 on your blog?"
- Just say no: When I first started getting author requests to review a their book, I was so excited that someone noticed my little blog, that I agreed to read every one I got. That is not always a good idea. So, for 2012, I am going to be a little bit more picky about what I agree to review.
- Blog, blog, blog: I am pretty proud of how I've done so far this year, but I want to keep up what I'm doing. I like having a blog, I really enjoy it. I don't want to let it fade into oblivion. So, I just want to make sure I continue to blog in 2012.
- Utilize social media: It's the future (actually, the present) and I need to use my Facebook and Twitter accounts more than I do now. I want to try to tweet everyday and utilize my Mom Reads My Books Facebook more.
- Redecorate: At some point during 2012, I would like to redecorate my blog. New button, new header, new look, etc. This is my freshman attempt at making a blog and it's ok, but I'd like to get it done by someone who knows what they are doing.
Your turn! What are your resolutions for your blog? Leave a link in the comment section and I will stop by your blog. I hope you and yours have a very Happy New Year and an a wonderful 2012!
Social media is a need on my part! In other words- making use of the twitter!

Redecorating is a good idea for me too. I'll have to add that to my resolutions!
ReplyDeleteGreat goals! I've also been receiving several reviews from authors and publishers and it's really hard to shake the rush that comes with it. Thanks for stopping by my blog! :) Wishing you the best of luck with your goals. Happy New Year!

I had some of that this year as well, although I soon worked harder at saying no since I was already balancing a full plate!

Old Follower :)
I need to learn to start saying no too! I always do that and when I do I always have this big burden of reading a book and it's no fun. Best of luck to you in the new year!
ReplyDeleteMy Follow Friday!
Have a happy new year! :)

I've never had authors request I review their books. I usually just get ARCs from the bookstore where I work, Shelf Awareness, or egalleys from Netgalley. I think it would be hard to have authors ask. Although I am now helping someone start a new publishing company, so that has added to my pile to read. Old follower stopping by!
ReplyDeleteHi. Great goals. Being able to say no is an important part of reading what you like. I learned that. I am looking forward to what you will do with your decor.
ReplyDeleteI agree about social media being important but sometimes it is hard--it feels like so much more work and after putting so much time and effort into writing a review that I can be proud of it is hard to put in the necessary effort. But I know I need to change that!

Good luck with the blog deco and Happy New Year too! Here's mine.
ReplyDeleteI need to get Twitter and FB going also. Although I'd rather spend my time reading than socializing.

Check out this blog for some cool templates. I've gotten two from there. Nice and easy to upload. In thirty seconds you have a brand new blog.

*sigh* You just can't escape the social media thing. I have a Twitter account... I don't really like FB much. I'm glad to have discovered your blog, I wish my mom read more of the books I like. I'm trying to get her to read The Hunger Games so far.
ReplyDeleteAnyywayy, happy blogging!
great resolutions! Social media is a big deal! I need to figure that out, too. I'm a new GFC. I think I'm looking forward to saying "no". :-) Thx for stopping by my Colorimetry!
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time saying no too :)
